Travelchoice has found a place at the heart of its community by teaming up with the British Heart Foundation (BHF) in the fight against heart disease.
The team at Travelchoice is supporting the Villages of Rockingham Forest Bike Ride (VORF) in support of the nation’s heart charity.
The VORF bike ride has a choice of three routes, making it an event to suit all ages and abilities. Whether you are a serious cyclist or fancy a fun day out, the event will offer safe cycling and the chance to get fit and healthy for a great cause.
Now in its 11th year, the Villages of Rockingham Forest Bike Ride attracts a fantastic crowd of supporters from across the country with last year’s bike ride raising over £6,000.
The main cycle route travels a short distance through Ferry Meadows Country Park before taking to open country roads meandering through many of Northamptonshire’s picturesque villages, including Kings Cliffe, Nassington, Fotheringhay and Blatherwycke.
Nigel Cole, Fundraising Volunteer Manager at the BHF says: “Heart disease is still the UK’s biggest single killer. It touches us all. Lives are cut short and for those living with the disease, life can be frightening and hard.
“Everything we do at the BHF is intended to make a tangible difference to people’s lives. Whether we’re providing care and support to patients or researching potentially life-saving treatments, we never forget how many people are counting on us to succeed.
“Support from organisations like Peterborough City Council makes a big difference in raising the vital funds needed to help us continue with our life-saving work. I urge people to join us in the fight for every heartbeat and register for the VORF Bike Ride to help us continue to fund ground breaking research into heart disease.”
