The Cambridge and Peterborough Combined Authority now has transport powers in Peterborough

As of April 2021 transport powers in Peterborough were transferred from Peterborough city council to the Cambridge and Peterborough combined authority. The authority was granted widespread powers as part of a devolution deal agreed with the Government in 2017.


The Combined Authority has responsibility for supporting, improving and building on the bus network around the region. Delivering a high quality bus network for the region is one of the cornerstones of the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority .The CPCA will work with local bus service partners to deliver strategic network improvements and have commissioned a local Bus Reform Taskforce to consider the varied options available for reform.
